Mobilizing Communities & Government for Inclusive Systems
Sustainable inclusion requires collective action. VOHF partners with community leaders, shehia committees, disability groups, and government authorities to shift social norms, strengthen local systems, and champion policy changes that protect and support children with disabilities.
What this includes:
- Community dialogues to challenge stigma and promote acceptance
- Working with sheha leaders and district officials to strengthen referral and protection systems
- Supporting income-generating groups for families of children with disabilities
- Evidence-based advocacy to influence policies and resource allocation
Why it matters:
When communities and government structures collaborate, inclusion becomes not just a program—but a shared responsibility and a lasting social norm.
